Update v0.1.04a
[Update to the Update to the update: Good news! Turns out I was mistaken & online play works after all! Just be sure that both players choose the same REGION from the Online menu options. Do NOT use BEST as it may put players in separate areas and they won't be able to connect. I'll be simplifying this all in the next build.]
[ Update to the update: Just shoot me... ;) Online play appears to be completely pooched at the moment, however you can PvP yourself in online mode, for some stupid reason, if you run two copies of the game. I'm investigating, have no doubts. Really thought I had it solved, but some part of me knew better. Soon. Just gimme a min. ]
Hello!
TLDR: Online play is up & may or may not work worth a damned. The "Online After Battle Menu" is borked a bit & requires both users to select the same option or it won't work other than Main Menu - I'm looking into it. Some stages have been removed temporarily for evaluation. Expect bugs, lots of bugs [like Starship Troppers / Helldivers swarm levels of bugs]. I'm working on it, I promise.
The blah blah blah version: Long overdue update here. I'm up to my ears in netcode, among other things, and doing my best to turn this "bad idea" into a semi-decent game. Things are... going. ;) This latest release _should_ be a bit more playable, stable, and hopefully fun. I am dealing with some desync stuff on the net side, but I think it's mostly because my settings are more aggressive than they should be... I've turned off the "Disconnect if broken" stuff, so you'll have to let me know how you fare online together. The "Online After Battle Menu" is borked, just select Main Menu & hope for the best (if it does nothing, quit). I've also removed some of the "prettier" but "heavier" levels as they were frequently crashing on load even in single player. All of the stages are just placeholders at this point while I build up the "skeleton" of the game in the background anyway, so try not to get too attached to whatever you're seeing. Oh, you _should_ also now have the ability to change your control layout, but I've been so tied up in the networking side of things I haven't had a chance to even glance at it.
